The Buffalo Bills defense should feel embarrassed after their Divisional Weekend loss.
They had the Kansas City Chiefs on the ropes, needing only one or two stops in 13 seconds to preserve their victory.
The safe bet should be on the unit that led the league in total yards and points allowed per game.
Unfortunately, they failed to prevent a game-tying field goal from Harrison Butker.
Worst, they doubled down on their end-of-game futility by surrendering the walk-off touchdown to Travis Kelce.
Their blunders overshadowed an epic performance from their 25-year-old quarterback.
The Bills’ future is bright with Josh Allen under center despite the loss.
From Unwanted To Superstar
It’s hard not to marvel at Allen’s transformation story.
He received one football scholarship offer but made the most of his opportunity.
The Bills drafted him early, even if there were issues with his accuracy.
However, he went through hard work to improve himself, and the results manifested every season.

His journey to the top tier of NFL quarterbacks culminated last year when he threw for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns.
Leading the Bills to the AFC Championship Game is also a nice feather to his cap.
He became a bona fide superstar in 2021 after becoming the first quarterback to throw for 100 touchdown passes and have 30 rushing touchdowns in his first four seasons.
Even without those numbers, his performance during the current playoffs makes him a menace for other teams in the foreseeable future.

Allen became the first player in NFL history to have 300 passing yards, 60 rushing yards, and five touchdown passes in their Super Wild Card victory over the New England Patriots.
Against the Chiefs, he proved that he’s a fierce competitor who can deliver in the clutch.
He threw two touchdowns to Gabriel Davis in the final two minutes when they couldn’t settle for field goals.
In total, he shredded the Kansas City defense for 329 and four touchdowns.

He also completed 73 percent of his passes on the road during a win-or-go-home situation.
It’s depressing that he didn’t get the ball during overtime, but those rules are for another conversation.
But the imprint he left after that defeat must make Bills fans excited about what’s next.
Ready For Domination
While Mac Jones had an impressive rookie season for New England, the AFC East will belong to Allen during his peak years with the Bills.
The New York Jets are years away from being competitive, while the Miami Dolphins are in transition after Brian Flores’ departure.
His talent will help Buffalo cover loopholes on offense and inconsistencies on defense.
Therefore, the front office must continue to build the roster around him to win consistently.
Josh Allen is amazing. And to say THIS after that crushing loss? Class. 👏🏼
“The rules are what they are, and I can’t complain about that because if it was the other way around, we’d be celebrating, too. So, it is what it is at this point. We didn’t make enough plays tonight.”

As great Allen is, he’s just one player who can do so much.
However, representing the AFC in the Super Bowl is not a guarantee given the caliber of quarterbacks in the conference.
Bills fans will always look forward to battles with Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, and Lamar Jackson.
But if his performance in Kansas City is just the beginning, Buffalo is in good hands despite these intense face-offs.
