Newly-extended Cleveland Guardians star Jose Ramirez is off to a hot start in 2022, much like his teammate, rookie sensation Steven Kwan.
We’re just six games into the 2022 regular season and Ramirez is already an owner of some unique MLB history.
Ramirez has picked up 12 hits and driven in 14 runs to start the young season.
Only one other player in MLB history since 1920, the year RBIs were initially tracked as a stat, has had that many hits and RBIs through just the first six games of a season.
The man who most recently accomplished that was former Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Pat Burrell, who had 12 hits and 15 RBIs through the first six games of the 2005 regular season.
José Ramírez: 12 hits and 14 RBI in six games this season. #ForTheLand

This is some elite history to be a part of if you’re Ramirez.
There’s a reason the Guardians wanted to extend him and there’s a reason they got it done.
The man can flat out hit.
He’s off to an unprecedentedly hot start in 2022 and has already become a part of some history.
In addition to that, Ramirez is hitting for a .480 average in 25 at-bats.
He’s also homered three times and has posted an amazing OPS of 1.576.
There may not be an answer to cool this guy down.
He’s just hitting and is in his groove.
When a guy like Ramirez is in a groove, stopping him can seem almost impossible.
But Ramirez has been doing this for some time and it should come as no surprise.
The Guardians’ home opener takes place tonight as the San Francisco Giants come to town, and you can bet the fans in Cleveland are ready to see Ramirez get to work at the plate.
