The Golden State Warriors cannot afford to make mistakes right now.
They’re flirting with .500 basketball and way below where they’re used to being in the standings, so emotions are at an all-time high and some stars seem kind of heated.
Stephen Curry, for one, has been quite vocal about the need for consistency and putting in their A-game night in and night out, while Draymond Green has talked about being held accountable amid the team’s tough season.
That’s why Curry couldn’t handle himself late in their win over the Memphis Grizzlies, throwing his mouthpiece out of frustration shortly after Jordan Poole took a terrible shot and missed it.
The referees didn’t hesitate to send Curry to the showers with one minute left to play, putting the Dubs in a tough spot against a team that was going for the kill since the jump ball.
Fortunately for him, for Poole, and for the team, Jordan wound up making a game-winning layup, so there wasn’t anything to complain about after the game.
So, as Poole entered the locker room and met Steph in the tunnel, he mocked him by throwing his mouthpiece away and then embracing him.

Evidently, this was nothing but a friendly joke between two teammates that get along and not a shot at Curry, but he’s lucky he redeemed himself.
The Warriors are in a tough spot right now and could look to be buyers ahead of the trade deadline, so Poole better make those shots and keep the jokes to a minimum for the time being.
