Johnny Manziel‘s NFL career was more eventful outside the field than inside the gridiron.

He played two seasons for the Cleveland Browns, finishing with 1,675 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

The former Texas A&M standout also completed just 57 percent of his passes.

However, he is more remembered for his controversies.

There was this video of him partying during the team’s bye week in 2015.

He was also involved in an investigation for an alleged domestic violence incident with his ex-girlfriend.

Eventually, the Browns released him in March 2016 because of disregarding the team’s expectations for their players on and off the field.

After his brief NFL stint, Manziel played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.

He also suited up for Memphis Express of Alliance of American Football.

Manziel’s latest football stint brought him to the Zappers of Fan Controlled Football.

He’s just 29 years old, and this video by Bleacher Report proves that he can still throw the football.

Manziel evaded the blitz by making a spin move before hitting Terrell Owens for a touchdown.

Unfortunately, Manziel and the Zappers lost that game to the Glacier Boyz, 44-6.

Cautionary Tale For NFL Players

It’s good that both Manziel and Owens can still play the game they love.

But their story should be a lesson for all athletes who might join the league via the 2022 NFL Draft.

Manziel threw away his talent by spending more time ensuring that the media knew where he was.

No one else gave him another chance when the Browns released him.

Meanwhile, Owens is an All-Pro wide receiver and NFL legend still seemingly trying to prove himself.

Worst yet, he should be enjoying the spoils of his 15-season NFL career at age 48.

Instead, he’s still claiming that he could still be productive in the NFL.
