The Cincinnati Reds have fallen well out of postseason contention just 24 games into the season.
They are off to a historically bad 3-21 start and are entrenched in last place in the NL Central with a run differential of -82.
The team has hit rock bottom and there is no easy way out.
However, despite their awful start, Joey Votto has not stopped winning over the people of the internet with his hilarious tweets.
He has been one bright spot for Cincinnati.
Votto is currently on the COVID injured list for the Reds.
One fan has a dog named “Votto” and tweeted pictures of the dog while wishing the human Votto a speedy recovery from COVID.
Votto responded in the best way possible.
❤️ Please tell Votto I say, ruff, ruff, bow wow, arf, ruff, ruff…
He knows, he knows 😏 https://t.co/AY6D4A9fib— Joey Votto (@JoeyVotto) May 5, 2022
Ruff, Ruff!
It turns out humans and dogs can communicate and can do it quite well.
They understand each other much better than we all would have originally thought.
But in the midst of this horrendous season for the Reds, it’s nice to have a little bit of levity.
Votto has already won a good portion of the internet, but he just doesn’t stop.
Now, he can talk to dogs.
More than anything, it’s heartwarming.
Whenever times are tough, whether it be the Reds’ awful start or Votto’s bout with COVID, animals always help make things a little easier.
For that, we should all appreciate Votto the dog as he wishes Votto the human well as he recovers from the virus.
People aren’t lying when they say that a dog is a man’s best friend.
Hopefully Votto feels better soon and feels the power of this dog’s good will so he can get back out on the field and hit some homers again.
