Joey Gallo may have found the answer to his struggles to open the 2022 season.
The New York Yankees slugger still is hitting just .161 on the season with an OPS of .540, but perhaps a couple of bright spots have emerged for the embattled player.
He finally hit his first home run of the season on Tuesday night in the Yankees’ series-opening win against the Baltimore Orioles.
But maybe a trend is starting for Gallo.
The Yankees won again last night over the Orioles, and one of the heroes was Gallo, who blasted his second home run of the season in the Yankees’ victory.
All Joey Gallo does is homer nowadays.

Is Gallo Back?
Maybe he has his power stroke back.
This has been what has eluded him so far this season.
The strikeouts were piling up and he wasn’t getting on base.
But that’s nothing a couple home runs can’t fix.
Maybe that’s all Gallo needed to regain his stroke and start hitting again.
He put a good swing on the ball too.
He looked just like the old Gallo from his days with the Texas Rangers.
This is the player the Yankees thought they were getting when they traded for him.
Perhaps more home runs are coming.
But if that is a sign of things to come, then Gallo is due to turn things around and have a big year.
He’ll certainly take hitting home runs every day over striking out as frequently as he was.
This “streak” is of course a small sample size, but perhaps it’s something for Gallo to build off of going forward this season.
When he’s right, he can be a real threat in that powerful Yankees lineup.
