The NBA MVP race is always something that fans keep an eye on throughout the season.
Many star players in the NBA could make a case to be the MVP.
But this year, three players seem to stand out amongst the rest.
Those three players are Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
For a large part of the season, Jokic has been the favorite to win his third straight MVP.
He is almost averaging a triple-double (24.8/11.9/9.9) and is on the best team in the Western Conference.
But he has seen his odds take a hit of late due to the outstanding play of Embiid.
Embiid even leads the current NBA MVP ladder.

The 76ers are the third team in the East, and Embiid is leading the NBA in scoring (33.2 points per game).
But he did happen to leave his last game early with calf tightness.
As for Antetokounmpo, he has been a steady force all season.
He is already a two-time MVP and is in consideration for the award every year.
Giannis is on the best team in the Eastern Conference and one of the most dominant players in the league.
It is rare to have three non-American players dominating the MVP conversation but they all deserve it.
With only about eight games left in the season for most teams, the NBA race might come down to the final day.
As long as Embiid stays healthy, it seems like his award to lose.
After finishing second in MVP voting each of the last two years, it makes sense that he would finally win one.
