Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers is at the top of his game right now.
Not only did he lead his team to a (mostly) successful regular season, but he has also stepped up his game in many different ways.
His hard work is paying off and Embiid is in contention for this year’s NBA MVP trophy.
Even if he doesn’t claim that honor, he is doing other things in the league that are well worth noting.

As of now, Embiid is the most prolific scorer in NBA history.
Per 100 possessions, Embiid is scoring 40.4 points.
That stat is tied with none other than Michael Jordan and beats everyone else who has ever played the game.
It’s true that this is a statistic that could change shortly but, for now, Embiid sits at the top.
Embiid In The Lead
Embiid has been one of the most admired players in the league since he entered it six seasons ago.
But the work he is doing right now is next-level.
This season, he is averaging 30.6 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
He’s also become more athletic and more thoughtful on the floor.
He feels more much comfortable being in charge of his team after years and years of people claiming he wasn’t capable of leading his squad.
Embiid has really come into his own over the last year and is playing better than he has.
However, is that enough for the 76ers to go all the way?
There was a time when it looked like Philly could make the Finals this year but they have hit a few rough patches along the way.
The team enters the playoffs as the fourth team in the East and is about to take on the Toronto Raptors in the first round.
It’s time for Embiid to step up once again.
