NBA fans all over the world were left with their jaws firmly planted on the floor following the performance of Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.
Embiid posted an incredible 59 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists, numbers that have only happened with the 76ers five times before.
This was the best night of his career and a stunning feat.

It was even more impressive when you compare it to other players.
Embiid’s game Sunday is actually better than Ben Simmons‘ entire season so far.
Simmons has only scored 49 points for the season while Embiid did 10 more than that on Sunday night alone.
Not only does this highlight the lacking season Simmons has had so far, it again shows that Embiid is truly one of the best basketball players alive.
Simmons Slowed
Embiid’s numbers are obviously mind-boggling and truly stunning.
At the same time, they aren’t that shocking because he’s consistently been so good and has entered this year as if it’s make-or-break with everything on the line.
Simmons’ subpar performance is a bit more startling, given that he’s still young, still talented, and was supposed to be in better shape now that he’s playing for a new team that is happy to have him.
It’s hard to tell what’s bothering Simmons: is it health-related or due to a lack of belief in himself?
Whatever it is, Simmons needs to get better.
The former Rookie of the Year is scoring just 5.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.9 assists a game and has missed out on 5 games so far.
He sat on the bench Sunday as Embiid was having a historic night that eclipsed his entire year.
