Try as they might, the Cleveland Cavaliers were not able to overcome the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.
Philadelphia put the Cavs down, 118-112, because of the hard work of Joel Embiid, James Harden, De’Anthony Melton, Tyrese Maxey, and others.
As he has been so many other nights, Embiid was at the center of the team’s win.
And he didn’t only claim a victory, he claimed history too.

Embiid has now reached 10,000 career points during his six years in the league.
The 28-year-old big man only needed 373 games to reach this milestone, which is the fewest games of any 76ers star, beating Allen Iverson with 378.
This is just the latest great feat that Embiid has accomplished this year.
He is putting up 33.1 points and 10.2 rebounds a game and is having one of the best seasons of his career.
He’s been the runner-up for MVP two times now but there is a chance he finally claims that trophy if he continues to play as he has been.
What’s more important than his individual accomplishments is the fact that his team has been on fire lately.
They are the third team in their conference and just three games behind the top-seeded Boston Celtics.
Over the last month, they have been winning more games than all other teams and are currently in the midst of a four-game win streak.
Embiid has already secured a spot in 76ers history with what he’s accomplished and his 10,000th point confirms that.
But if he is able to get his team to the Finals, he will forever be a hero to Philly fans.
