We are now more than halfway through the NBA season, which means many people are speculating about what’s to come.
That includes who will win the end-of-season awards that all players covet.
The biggest of these trophies is MVP because it officially dictates who is the current best player in the league.
There are several athletes battling it out for that honor this season, but NBA analyst Skip Bayless has a vote for who reigns supreme.
Is Nikola Jokic the best player in the NBA?
"I'm going to say it again, Joel Embiid is better than Nikola Jokic. Any day, night and any overtime, I'm taking Embiid." — @RealSkipBayless pic.twitter.com/0EXl3HWvgL

Speaking on Undisputed, Bayless went all-in on Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers.
“I’m going to say it again, Joel Embiid is better than Nikola Jokic. Any day, night, and any overtime, I’m taking Embiid,” Bayless said.
There is definitely a strong argument to be made for Embiid in this situation.
He is clearly having an amazing season so far.
Embiid is producing 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists a game.
His field goal percentage is a stunning 53.7% as well.
But compare that to Jokic: 24.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 10.1 assists on 63.2%.
Both players are doing wonderful things for their teams but numbers can only summarize someone’s season so much.
You have to truly watch both of these men on the court to determine who has more heart and determination.
It’s all a matter of perspective of course and there is no wrong answer about who is better.
The bottom line is that Embiid and Jokic are easily two of the best players alive right now and both of them are earning their places in the race for MVP.
Is there a chance that they will face off against each other in the Finals?
If they do, that will definitely state a case for who is the bigger NBA icon.
