By now, the baseball world has had time to process the horrific 14-game losing skid that took the Los Angeles Angels under .500 and got their manager Joe Maddon fired.
Phil Nevin took over managerial duties in an interim capacity after the firing.
The Angels have yet to regain their traction, even after ending the skid.
But prior to their ESPN Sunday Night Baseball matchup with the New York Mets, some news broke courtesy of Tim Kurkjian.
The report is seen in a video in the tweet below, but apparently, Maddon got himself a mohawk to try and light a fire under his team, but never got a chance to show his players, due to his firing.

Just Missed
This is quite disappointing.
Who wouldn’t want to see Maddon with a mohawk?
That would be a sight to behold.
Now, everybody in baseball is going to be clamoring to get their hands on a picture of Maddon’s mohawk.
Perhaps it could have lit a fire under the Angels.
The players probably would have loved it and felt a little more at ease about things.
Playing loose is sometimes what helps when a team is struggling as badly as the Halos were.
Sometimes, you just need a little bit of levity, and Maddon certainly would have provided that if his players got to see his haircut.
The timing was just off, unfortunately.
We’ll never know if that would have helped the Angels in any way.
We’d all like to assume it would, but we’ll just never know for sure if that mohawk would have paid dividends or not.
Hopefully soon, we get a look at this lovely haircut.
