It didn’t take long before the Cincinnati Bengals realized that they had a generational talent on their hands.
Joe Burrow took the league by storm from the jump, even behind one of the worst offensive lines in the game.
He then led the team to the Super Bowl in his first full season as a starter, followed by a trip to the AFC Championship Game in the very next campaign.
And while he hasn’t been able to cap that off with a Vince Lombardi trophy yet, he’s already established himself as one of the top five quarterbacks in the league.
So, it wasn’t surprising to see that he was named the FedEx Air Player of the Year, joined by Josh Jacobs, who was elected as the Ground Player of the Year.

Burrow completed a whopping 68.9% of his throws this season, logging 4,475 yards (7.4 yards per catch) and 35 touchdowns against 12 interceptions.
He led the Bengals to a 12-4 record and was quite close to making it to the ultimate stage again, but Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs got their revenge.
Notably, Burrows was a firm candidate to take home the MVP honors as well, but Mahomes also beat him for that distinction.
Still, the 26-year-old will have plenty of opportunities to win his first MVP and, more importantly, take the Bengals the distance and win the very first Super Bowl in franchise history.
For now, he’ll just have to settle for this award, but you better believe he’ll come back better than ever next season.
