Howie Roseman has recently turned the Philadelphia Eagles into one of the biggest juggernauts in the National Football League.
But it took the Eagles years of hard work, dedication, and working their way up before being actual contenders, which is something Roseman himself could relate to.
Roseman was an unknown guy for NFL circles, and he didn’t come with the pedigree that most hires come when they first enter the league.
In fact, he went from being unpaid inter to the youngest GM in NFL history, all because of his hard work and determination.
Now, on the verge of his second Super Bowl appearance in charge of the team, Eagles owner Joe Banner took to The Rich Eisen Show to tell the incredible story of how he hired Roseman in the first place:
Apparently, Roseman sent over 1,100 letters to all 32 teams dating back to his high school days all the way to when he was in law school.
Roseman wrote literally every single day until they finally decided to bring him in for an interview, as they couldn’t tell if he was crazy or just incredibly motivated.
He climbed the front office ladder from Salary Cap Staff Counsel to Director of Football Administration, Vice President of Football Administration, Vice President of Player Personnel, all the way to General Manager
All that in just ten years.
So, kids, take Howie Roseman’s history as an inspiration.
Sometimes, you don’t need to have all the contacts or come from a privileged family.
All you need to do is be consistent enough to make everybody think you may be crazy.
