Defensive end JJ Watt would like to make up for lost time with the Arizona Cardinals.
He had a good start with the NFC West squad, playing in the first seven games.
Unfortunately, he suffered a shoulder injury in their game against his former team, the Houston Texans.
That condition sidelined him for the rest of the regular season, but he was activated for the Cardinals’ Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Rams.
It was a no-contest as their division rivals dominated in a lop-sided game.
With that year already part of history, Watt continues to will himself to return to game shape.
His toughness will help him deal with the process as he hopes to contribute more to the team’s cause.
But in one of the team’s recent practices, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year succumbed to the training bag.
Instead of feeling sour about it, Watt had a witty response regarding the incident.

Watt said, “They gotta stop putting Guinness in my Gatorade bottles.”
He said this in response to the video shared by ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss wherein he was engaged in a friendly competition with his teammates.
It looked like a relay contest wherein the team that clears the bags first wins.
Watt ran at the same time as Kingsley Keke did, but stumbled before the last bag.
His right foot hit the bag, forcing him to tumble and lose the game for his team.
Watt Has To Cover More Ground On Defense
But during the games that matter, Watt has to intensify his efforts, especially now that Chandler Jones left the Cardinals.
He will still get help from Markus Golden, Zach Allen, and Jordan Hicks.
However, the Cardinals won’t be as competitive if Watt becomes a missing link.
