Earlier this year, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo bid farewell to the squad he had played for since 2017.
It was a bittersweet moment for the veteran play-caller because the team would have Trey Lance as their new starter.
The former Eastern Illinois standout also knew he would be traded during the 2022 offseason, ending his tenure in San Francisco.
But his shoulder surgery turned off potential trade partners, and he ultimately stayed in San Francisco on an incentive-laden contract.
He is set to earn more money after defeating the Los Angeles Rams in their Week 4 Monday Night Football game.
That victory also improves his record against their division rival to 7-1, as CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson pointed out.

Garoppolo’s recent win earns him an additional $350,000 aside from his $6.5 million base salary this season.
Out of that amount, he earned $250,000 for playing over 25 percent of the team’s snaps against Los Angeles.
He also earned another $100,000 with the win.
More importantly, the Niners improve their record to 2-2.
A Timeline Of Garoppolo’s Record Against The Rams
Garoppolo’s first win against the Rams came in 2017, and he had 20 completions for 292 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in that game.
He had two wins against Los Angeles during the 2019 regular season, finishing with 40 completions for 491 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions.
Garoppolo had one win against the Rams in 2020 and two in the 2021 regular season.
The 49ers defeated the Rams in Week 18 of the 2021 season on the road, with Garoppolo throwing for 316 yards, a touchdown, and two picks.
His recent victory against Sean McVay’s squad is his seventh win in eight games.
However, the Rams have the last laugh after defeating their rivals in last season’s NFC Championship Game.
The 49ers squandered a ten-point lead before losing that game.
That defeat was even tougher to swallow when the Rams won Super Bowl LVI against the Cincinnati Bengals.
