Like so many great NBA games, Monday’s match between the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns came down to the final seconds.
The Heat were up by just one point, 113-112, and the Suns had possession of the ball.
With Chris Paul out of the game, the pressure was on Devin Booker to put up a key shot and let his team win.
But the Heat’s Jimmy Butler wasn’t having any of it.

After a short one-on-one face-off, Booker tried to put up his shot in the final seconds but was blocked but Butler’s incredible defensive move.
The Suns weren’t able to get the shot off and lost.
And the crowd went wild for Butler.
This was a painful loss for the Suns and a huge moral victory for the Heat, who are on their way to getting back into prime playoff form.
Butler Blocking Booker
While watching the video of the block, you can feel the energy in the crowd as Butler gets it done and prevents Booker’s shot.
It was a clutch play and one that reminded people why Butler is considered the heart and soul and leader of Miami.
The Heat needed the win on Monday night.
Miami was 6-7 heading into the game and walked away with a .500 track record after Butler’s heroic move.
They are not currently at the place they want to be and they’re not playing as well as they’d like.
But a game like the one they had against the Suns on Monday will inspire the players, put some wind in their sails, and allow them to believe in themselves more.
It was a big win and it was made all the more amazing but Butler’s last-second greatness.
