New York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims has had enough of his lack of opportunities.
Ever since he joined the team in 2020, he is yet to get the break he wishes.
That’s why he has already requested a trade, as shared by his agent Ron Slavin.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport shared Slavin’s statement on Mims.

“It’s just time. Denzel tried in good faith, but it’s clear he does not have a future with the Jets. Denzel vowed to come back better than ever this season and worked extremely hard in the offseason to make that happen,” Slavin said.
He added, “We feel at this point a trade is our only option since the Jets have told us repeatedly they will not release him.”
Slavin already met with Jets general manager Joe Douglas regarding Mims.
Meanwhile, Mims has nothing but good words about head coach Robert Saleh.
However, recent developments show that the former Baylor standout does not figure in the team’s long-term plans.
After selecting Mims in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Jets also picked Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson.
Both wideouts are now in front of Mims in the wide receiver depth chart.
Also in the crowded group are Corey Davis, Braxton Berrios, and Jeff Smith.
Mims’ Promising Career Fizzled
Though he played only nine games during his rookie season, Mims finished with 357 yards.
A year later, he only had 133 yards in 11 games.
Mims is yet to score a touchdown in the NFL, even if he was First-Team All-Big 12 in his final year at Baylor.
He is on a four-year, $5.4 million deal with the Jets, which expires in 2023.
He leads the team in preseason receptions with five catches for 68 yards.
