For the last few seasons, supporters of the Utah Jazz have been frustrated, frankly.
Their team has had a lot of promise and has also had some stellar regular seasons but they kept falling apart in the playoffs and didn’t even come close to the Finals.
There were more than a few people calling for some considerable changes to the team.
That is exactly what they got: head coach Quin Snyder stepped down, Rudy Gobert left for Minnesota, and Donovan Mitchell is now a Cavalier.
And there are more changes on the horizon – in fact, a complete rebuild is underway.
Justin Zanik: "We were tapped out from a potential standpoint, and we needed to reset that."

General Manager Justin Zanik was quite honest about why these changes were necessary: “We were tapped out from a potential standpoint, and we needed to reset that.”
It was quite the reset and it’s going to make for a rough 2022-23 season.
Hitting The Reset Button
Jazz executive Danny Ainge is at the center of this latest rebuild for the Jazz and fans should rest assured that he knows what he is doing.
Things are off to an explosive start with a slew of draft picks, swaps, and players for both Gobert and Mitchell.
With a few more players to trade away, the team will build an even bigger treasure chest of future draft picks.
This is going to be great for the long-term future but it’s cold comfort for those who wanted a Finals victory in the upcoming season.
It’s just not going to happen, the team is going to sit towards the bottom of the Western Conference unless they greatly over-perform.
Rebuilding isn’t easy and it isn’t fast but it can result in greatness…eventually.
