Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics had one incredible season this year.
Things didn’t start out smoothly but they really turned things around and the team went on one of the best regular-season runs in NBA history.
In the end, it got them all the way to the Finals, where they fell short against the monstrous Golden State Warriors.
They swore they were only going to make a few minor tweaks in the offseason and instead focus on fostering the great team culture that exists.
Then came the wild rumor that the team was willing to trade away Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and a draft pick to land Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets.
So much for team culture, huh?
Tatum, who was at the Point Gods premiere the other night, commented on any possible trade that would shake up his squad.
Jayson Tatum, at the premiere of the Showtime doc “Point Gods” in NYC makes it clear he doesn’t want to get involved in all the speculation surrounding the Celtics right now. “I love our team.”

“I love our team,” Tatum simply said.
Obviously, Tatum doesn’t want to change the good thing Boston has going – can you blame him?
Breaking Up Boston
You can understand why the team itself is against being broken up.
Take a look at Boston’s last postseason compared to Durant’s.
The Celtics went all the way to the Finals while Durant was swept in the first round – by the Celtics, no less.
Why would Tatum and the rest of his crew want to take on Durant instead of just sticking with the guys who almost won the entire season?
But Durant is a once-in-a-generation talent and every team in the league is interested in acquiring him.
Yet, what are they willing to give up to get him?
If Tatum was in charge, they wouldn’t give up anything.
