Today, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics is known as one of the best basketball players in the NBA and a possible future champion.
He’s also a three-time All-Star, two-time All-NBA, and the Eastern Conference Finals MVP.
But before he was lighting up the scoreboard in TD Garden, Tatum was doing work while in school at Duke.

Speaking of Duke, Tatum was reminiscing about his school recently and came up with some of his favorite players to ever attend.
“Top 5 all time, @DukeMBB players (strictly on time at duke) 8 names I think could argue to be in that 5 G hill, Laetnner, jj, jay will, battier, Jah, bari, Zion.”
For those in the know, those are all iconic names who really did great work while at Duke.
Some of them have also transitioned seamlessly into the NBA.
Speaking of making the leap from school to the NBA, Tatum has taken what he learned in school and applied it to his great professional career.
Tatum In The Big League
People had high hopes for Tatum when he moved from Duke to the Celtics back in 2017.
He has surpassed many of the expectations for him and he seems to be getting better and better.
While he experienced some issues in his first Finals appearance, Tatum has become a vital part of the Celtics and is clearly the centerpiece of the current roster.
Plus, the young man is only 24 and has a lot of room for growth.
He isn’t the first terrific NBA player to come out of Duke – the school has long been known as a great place for players to learn essentials about the game.
Like the names he listed, Tatum is also making Duke very proud.
