Jordan Poole is the future of the Golden State Warriors.
And as such, some believe he should wait for his turn to carry the torch and just stay in his lane while that happens.
At least, that’s how Jay Williams seems to feel right now.
Williams called Poole out for taking a wild shot with plenty of time left on the clock to try and tie the game on Tuesday instead of giving the ball back to Stephen Curry.

Williams pointed out that this has been an ongoing thing with Poole since he got paid, stating that his teammates have called him out repeatedly for not doing what’s best for the team.
Poole is a great player and does a lot of things better than the average NBA guy, but his shot selection and decision-making aren’t two of his best traits.
He’s taken plenty of pages out of Curry’s book, and having him as a mentor has most definitely shaped his game.
But as good a shooter as he is, he’s nowhere near Steph’s stratosphere; no one is.
Even so, Steve Kerr could’ve called a timeout, and he liked what he saw from his team in that scramble, so maybe people should take it easy on Poole.
Moreover, he’s made a living out of taking and making those kinds of shots in the past; it just didn’t happen this time.
Poole did what he gets paid to do: take shots.
