Fans of the Golden State Warriors were very excited to see Sunday night’s Summer League game between their team and the San Antonio Spurs.
You may wonder what a Summer League matchup could provide for fans who just saw their team win the NBA Finals a few years ago.
Yes, the excitement may have paled in comparison but there was still something very special happening on Sunday.
The Warriors finally got James Wiseman back.
The big man hasn’t played basketball in more than a year since injuring himself in April 2021 and sitting out for an entire season as he healed.
But now he is just months away from returning to the league and is spending his time getting back in the swing of things.
Steve Kerr texted James Wiseman after the game saying how happy he is for him and that he looked great out there

He greatly assisted his team on Sunday and certainly impressed the fans.
But he impressed someone else: his coach.
Following the game, Steve Kerr texted Wiseman to say how happy he is for him and how great he looked playing again.
Kerr is definitely happy to see Wiseman coming back because he could use him.
Riding With Wiseman
Wiseman is going to add a lot of offensive and defensive power to the Warriors when he returns at the start of the season.
The seven-foot big man will be a vital part of the team’s frontcourt, something he already was during his sole season with the team.
While there is no denying how great the Warriors are, they have long been trying to improve their defensive output.
The last few years have seen the Warriors frontcourt undergo some growth and changes.
With Wiseman finally back, the last puzzle piece is back and Golden State is about to get bigger – and maybe a lot better.
