Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill remain in a battle for the New Orleans Saints starting quarterback job.
At the time this article is being written, Winston has the upper hand after an amazing showing early on Monday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Hill has time to respond, but it will be tough to top his teammate.
Winston got started with a perfect ball to Marquez Callaway, who made an even better grab for the score.

The ball was thrown into the exact perfect spot and Winston looked like vintage Drew Brees in front of the New Orleans faithful.
But he was not done with Callaway just yet.

Is this the same Winston we all saw in Tampa Bay?
The same guy who threw 30 interceptions in 2019?
Winston is out here looking like Brees and dropping perfect passes into tight windows.
If we are using the preseason to decide the competition, Winston has to have the upper hand.
The Battle Continues
Winston should have an upper hand due to being a more traditional quarterback.
And honestly, the Saints offense could work better with Winston under center and Hill used all over the offense.
That seemed to work with Brees as quarterback and only makes the Saints offense more dynamic as a whole.
Winston is also a former No. 1 pick who clearly had the talent, but perhaps not the eyesight to succeed.
He had surgery done and looks like a whole new player.
There is a difference between overreacting and just seeing what is right in front of one’s eyes.
Winston made two throws not many quarterbacks can make and applied the perfect touch, angle, and everything to score two separate touchdowns.
If Hill was doing that, with his speed, there may not be a competition.
Winston has nothing to lose at this point and it would be odd to see him be the backup given his one-year, $5.5 million prove-it deal in New Orleans.
Hill’s restructured deal is paying him over $12 million this season, but his best role still seems to be as a do-it-all player on both offense and special teams.
If he was the only option that is one thing.
But Winston is a legitimate talent and his two perfect throws Monday night should have fans thrilled.
If this was a normal game, it may be an all-time great one for Winston.
