The Denver Nuggets are having their best NBA season in years.
Most people agree that the team’s biggest star is their two-time MVP, Nikola Jokic.
Jokic is playing so well in fact that there are many who believe he will be winning his third consecutive MVP trophy this season.
That would make him one of the most talented and impressive players in league history.
But he’s not the only powerhouse on the team.
Take Jamal Murray for example.
In 2023, Murray has averaged 23 points, 6.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.2 steals.
He has been shooting 52.3% from two and 42.7% from the three.

6.4 APG
4.2 RPG
1.2 SPG
52.3% 2PT
42.7 % 3PT (7.8 ATT!)
86.3% FT
60.7% True Shooting

In other words, Murray has become a very strong number-two option for the team and is once again playing like the athlete he once was.
It is hard to believe that just a few months ago, Murray was returning to the court after more than a year away.
A nasty ACL injury kept him sidelined for all of 2021-22 and there were many who wondered how he would be when he came back at the start of 2022-23.
He got off to something of a slow start when the season got going but he eventually found his footing and rhythm again.
His current average is mostly in line with what he was doing before he was injured, if not a bit better.
In 2020-21, Murray was putting up 21.2 points, 4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists a game.
Now that Murray is back to full speed and the Nuggets are doing incredible work, how far can they go?
That will be determined in the next few months.
