NBA legend Carmelo Anthony recently gave his list of “pure hoopers” in the history of the league.
To him, a “pure hooper” is someone who can play in any league, professional or amateur, and “get to it.”
In short, it’s someone who will showcase supreme talent no matter where they are playing and who they are playing with.
Speaking with Overtime, via ClutchPoints, Anthony listed several examples, such as Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Kevin Durant, himself, and Jamal Crawford.
Crawford noticed the shoutout and responded on Twitter, saying, “Nothing but love for the Melo man.”

Crawford played in the NBA for 20 years and definitely proved himself to be a “true hooper.”
During that time, he averaged 14.6 points and became a crucial part of teams such as the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, and others.
Crawford wasn’t a starter for much of his career but he made his time on the court count.
He was quickly one of the most well-respected and beloved second-unit stars in the entire league.
Unsurprisingly, he won Sixth Man of the Year three times during his two decades in the association.
Crawford has been in the news lately, several years after his retirement.
Fellow Sixth Man superstar Lou Williams recently said that he believes that players like him and Crawford should earn entries to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Yet, even with all that Crawford accomplished in his career, he hasn’t received that honor.
However, he has earned the respect and love of many of the top names in the league, including Anthony and many others.
