This NBA season has featured many teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, signing retired free agents to short contracts.
That’s happened mostly because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the slew of absences it created throughout the league.
On Wednesday night, former NBA great Jamal Crawford poked fun at the struggling Lakers and even suggested that he’d be a huge difference-maker off the bench.
“Put in your order” 🤣🤣🤣. Facts only though 🤷🏾♂️ https://t.co/7TZOCFpIYL

Appearing on TNT, Crawford was asked if he could play for the Lakers right now.
“Whatever you want, put in your order,” Crawford responded.
He added: “I’ll give you what you’re looking for” after suggesting that he could produce a point a minute for the team.
While it’s reasonable to doubt that Crawford could be that great after years out of the NBA, the Lakers really could use Crawford’s help at this point.
Back To LA?
Throughout his many years in the NBA, Crawford played for multiple teams such as the Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, and, most notably, the Los Angeles Clippers.
And he really was a big part of some of those teams.
Because of that, he was awarded Sixth Man of the Year three times.
Although he was making light of the Lakers’ struggles and wasn’t seriously suggesting he could play for the team right now, LA really could use a guy like Crawford.
They are desperate for someone who can shoot well from anywhere on the floor while still playing good defense.
In other words, they need someone who can deliver on the promises that Russell Westbrook hasn’t.
Everyone can laugh at Crawford’s joke about signing up with the Lakers but the team should really take note of the sort of player he is and find someone just like him.
