Cornerback Jalen Ramsey finally got the achievement that has eluded him after the Los Angeles Rams won Super Bowl LVI.
It’s the trophy that completes his NFL journey and further solidifies his legacy.
But while he should be feeling great now that he is a champion, an anonymous AFC executive said that he is “falling off and a little overrated at this point.”
Despite that comment, he was still the top cornerback in the league based on a poll of NFL executives, coaches, and players.
Though he got the top spot, that comment prompted him to tweet, “Stack up my first 6 years in the league to ANY corner in HISTORY! 3x 1st team All Pro & 5x Pro bowler… who else did that?”
To his credit, only Patrick Peterson and Butch Byrd match his credentials.
But when the NFL’s official Twitter account posted his tweet, Ramsey clapped back to his naysayers.
Ohw don’t bring it back up again lol. “they” don’t like talking facts… only opinions. When you speak facts like this, they say you ain’t humble 😂🤷🏾♂️ https://t.co/LjQnQxxGkM

There Is No Perfect Cornerback
Let’s face it, Ramsey did not have his best game during Super Bowl LVI.
Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase made huge completions against him.
Luckily, he was bailed out by Aaron Donald and the defensive line for the title-clinching stop.
But when you put his body of work alongside other great cornerbacks, he does make a valid point.
Even Richard Sherman agreed that Ramsey is the gold standard among cornerbacks right now.
The Rams will face five AFC teams during the 2022 regular season.
He will remember that comment during those games to serve as motivation to prove that executive wrong.
