The Philadelphia Eagles made a trade with the New Orleans Saints during the offseason, earning them an extra first-round pick for the 2023 NFL Draft.
That selection will come in handy if quarterback Jalen Hurts does not pan out, especially with several play-callers available in next year’s draft.
However, it looks like general manager Howie Roseman can use that pick for another position because Hurts is off to a great start in 2022.

The Eagles tweeted, “Jalen Hurts, NFC Offensive Player of the Month. #FlyEaglesFly.”
The former Alabama and Oklahoma standout deserves the distinction after leading the Eagles to a 3-0 record in September.
More importantly, he has been a catalyst in all those victories.
He started the season with 243 passing yards, 90 rushing yards, and a touchdown in their Week 1 win over the Detroit Lions.
However, he was just getting started after completing a historic performance in Week 2.
Aside from a convincing victory against the Minnesota Vikings, Hurts made 26 completions for 333 yards and a passing touchdown.
He also added two rushing touchdowns out of 57 yards.
That performance made him the first player in NFL history to complete 80 percent of his passes, throw for 300 yards, and rush for two touchdowns.
Hurts and the Eagles made it 3-0 with a 24-8 win against the division rival Washington Commanders.
The third-year play-caller had 22 completions for 340 yards and three touchdowns.
Hurts And The Eagles Keep On Rolling
The second-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft has 1,083 total yards and seven touchdowns after three games.
He is averaging 9.3 yards per pass completion and 4.5 yards per carry.
His mobility and the collection of talent around him make it difficult to defeat the Eagles.
The Eagles will try to keep their momentum going against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4.
