After all, the former Alabama and Oklahoma standout finished the season with 3,144 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Aside from commanding their passing game, his versatility allows him to contribute to the Eagles’ punishing run game.
His ability to make plays with either his arm or his feet made him the inaugural member of an exclusive NFL stat club.
Only one player in #NFL history has 4,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards through his first 20 career starts.

Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports reported that Hurts is the only player in NFL history (so far) to have 4,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards through 20 career starts.
He achieved the feat even if he is one start short of the double decade.
Hurts didn’t start until Week 14 of the 2020 Eagles season.
He completed 17 out of 30 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown in his first NFL start.
It’s fascinating to think that Hurts became the first player to achieve such a feat even if there have been versatile quarterbacks who came before him.
The Rise Of The Mobile Quarterback
Time will come when Hurts will have company on that list given the advent of quarterbacks who can make passes and take off for yards if the play breaks down.
In today’s NFL, there’s nothing outlier about having a two-way quarterback.
Hurts will only get better as his career progresses.
As his skill set continues to improve, the Eagles are in good hands moving forward.
