The Philadelphia Eagles lost a heartbreaking Super Bowl 57, 38-35.
One reason was that their defense could not slow Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense.
They entered the game with the number one pass defense in the league and got shredded all game.
But, there is a silver lining for Eagles fans from this game.
That is how well quarterback Jalen Hurts played.
He threw for 304 yards and one touchdown while adding 70 rushing yards and three TDs.
Hurts kept the Eagles in the game and was able to match Mahomes point for point.
Many people are still doubting the abilities of Hurts as a passer.
But, offensive lineman Jordan Mailata had a great quote to describe Hurts’ play in this game.
Eagles LT Jordan Mailata on Jalen Hurts' Super Bowl performance:
"Not bad for a system QB, right?"

It will be interesting to see if Hurts uses his arm next season instead of his legs.
After all, he did suffer a shoulder injury because of running the ball which forced him to miss two games.
We have seen running quarterbacks get injured more often in the league, with the best example being Lamar Jackson.
The Ravens quarterback won league MVP in 2019 and had not played a full season since then.
Also, the Eagles just lost their offensive coordinator Shane Steichen to the Indianapolis Colts.
So, having a new play caller in the building could make for a different offensive scheme.
All in all, Eagles fans should be happy with how Hurts played in the Super Bowl.
But, as we get set for 2023, Hurts will be looking for a massive contract extension.
It is time for the Eagles to put their money where their mouth is.
