Fans of the Detroit Pistons haven’t had much to get excited about lately but that might change with Jaden Ivey.
The team received the number one pick in the 2021 NBA Draft with Cade Cunningham but the team still struggled mightily in the 2021-22 season.
Just a few weeks ago, they took Purdue player Jaden Ivey with the number five pick in the draft.
For those paying attention, Ivey is something special and Pistons fans were very, very intrigued.

Ivey already feels like a great fit in Motor City, as made evident by a recent simple tweet saying, “Detroit vs everybody.”
That sort of mentality will make Ivey a fierce competitor, one that believes in himself and his team.
The Pistons need that sort of belief and support if they wish to stop toiling towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
Ivey League
When playing for Purdue, the young guard put up 14.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
He’s a lively, energetic player and we have already seen that during his time in the NBA Summer League.
On Thursday night, Ivey led his team with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.
He also worked marvelously alongside fellow rookie Jalen Duren, Isaiah Stewart, and Saben Lee.
In the end, the team was able to pull out a 81-78 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
It took him a little bit of time to get started but once Ivey was cooking he showed his ability to dunk and leap and move with serious speed and focus.
He also sank two of his five three-point attempts and made all six of his free throws.
There has been speculation about Ivey possibly becoming a surprise Rookie of the Year next season.
We’re not sure if that’ll happen but he’s certainly off to a promising start.
