The New York Mets have been blessed by the return of Jacob deGrom, as they now have a rotation that features perhaps the two best starting pitchers in all of baseball.
deGrom took the ball for New York last night against the slumping Colorado Rockies and delivered yet another solid outing, throwing six innings of one-run ball and allowing just three hits, one walk, and striking out nine batters.
The Mets won by a final of 3-1.
deGrom has been everything the Mets have asked for since his return, and he lowered his ERA to 1.96 over his last 99 starts, continuing his historic run.

deGrom Stays Dominant
deGrom is no stranger to dominance, having won two NL Cy Young Awards.
But since returning, he is showing absolutely no rust whatsoever.
He’s been just as good as advertised, if not better.
Last night, he earned his third win of the season and lowered his ERA to 2.15.
deGrom has proven that even after a bout with multiple injuries, he is still one of, if not the best pitcher in all of baseball.
This current run he’s on is absolutely insane.
To have an ERA under two in any stretch is quite impressive.
deGrom continues to impress in his return.
The Mets will need him down the stretch if they are to hold off the charging Atlanta Braves and capture their first NL East title since 2015.
deGrom did his part to let the Mets to their 80th win of the season and expand their lead in the NL East back to two full games.
The Mets are now just two wins away from securing their first winning season since 2019.
We’ll see if deGrom can stay healthy and continue his run of dominance.
