Everyone was thinking of championships on Monday night when Kansas took down North Carolina – including Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant.
Morant and his Grizzlies are having the best season they’ve had in years and are very close to a strong playoff run.
Right now they are second in the West with a 55-23 record, sitting only behind the Phoenix Suns.
He can taste victory – and he said as much on Twitter.
i want a ring . 🏆 💍
— Ja Morant (@JaMorant) April 5, 2022
Morant simply tweeted “I want a ring” on Monday night, reminding his fans that he has a laser focus on ending this season on a high.
The Grizzlies have been stellar without him but there is no doubt their chances of taking down the Suns and making the Finals are much stronger if he returns from his injury.
More Morant, Please
Morant has been on the sidelines ever since he injured himself.
He was ruled out of Tuesday night’s game because of a sore knee.
The hope is that Morant is able to come back soon and can get in a few warm-up games before the playoffs start.
It’s obvious why he’s so important: the superstar contender has averaged 27 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists a game.
You’d think the team would fall apart without Morant but that simply hasn’t been the case.
In fact, Memphis is 20-2 without him this season.
That’s an incredible feat and is cause for concern for any other team in the playoffs.
Even without one of the best players in the league, the Grizzlies are still wildly competitive and strong.
But with Morant, they sometimes feel unstoppable.
Unstoppable is exactly what they’ll need to be if they hope to reach Morant’s goal of winning a ring this year.
