Ja Morant is currently in the midst of an absence of at least six games from his Memphis Grizzlies because of his off-court conduct.
Since live-streaming himself holding a handgun last weekend, Morant’s future with the team has been up in the air.
But even though Morant isn’t with the Grizzlies in-person, he is still supporting them.
Tim MacMahon reported that Morant gave the team a postgame phone call on Thursday night, celebrating their victory over the Golden State Warriors.
Dillon Brooks said, “He called us after the game, congratulating us. He’s in good spirits, working out. Even though he’s not with us, he’s still with us. Always.”

Brooks went on to say that Morant has been sending texts daily and has been encouraging his team to play hard and do well as the postseason rapidly approaches.
Several members of the Grizzlies are eager to get Morant back but it’s not clear when that will happen.
The team suspended Morant for two games following the live-stream incident.
After that, the time away increased.
Will his absence grow longer?
Morant is easily one of the most important players on this promising, exciting team but the concern around him and his activities has only grown.
There will be much more scrutiny surrounding him moving forward.
And everyone will want to know what he’s done to ensure an instance like this never happens again.
While it is great to see Morant continue to support his team, many fans feel the best way he can truly do that is to right his wrongs and move forward in a healthy, mature way.
