Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies is having a season that can only be described as incredible.
Right now, Morant is averaging 26.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 6.9 assists as the team sits third in the West, higher than they have been in ages.
NBA analysts and fans aren’t the only ones taking note of Morant’s MVP-worthy season.
Former MVP and current reigning champ Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks made some comments about Morant during the All-Star Game Weekend.
Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo on Grizzlies’ Ja Morant: “He’s improved with every single year. He’s having an unbelievable year this year, crazy. I know that he’s a very humble kid. I know he works extremely hard. Why not? Why can’t he win a championship in Memphis?” pic.twitter.com/9eI0ZBJmDX

Speaking with the media, Antetounmpo said the following about Morant:
“He’s improved with every single year. He’s having an unbelievable year this year, crazy. I know that he’s a very humble kid. I know he works extremely hard. Why not? Why can’t he win a championship in Memphis?”
Antetokounmpo isn’t the only one asking why Morant can’t secure a championship ring for his team.
Grizzlies Going For The Gold
The Western Conference is extremely tough this year and the road to the NBA Finals will be a tricky one for the Grizzlies.
The number one and number two seeds, the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors, are having banner seasons and sometimes seem unstoppable.
But with the leadership and skills of Morant, it’s not absurd to imagine them somehow going all the way.
That’s because of all the other teams in the league, the Grizzlies are most like the Suns and Warriors in terms of how they play and the squad they have.
In other words, they could end up beating the Suns and Warriors at their own game.
However, the only thing the Grizzlies are really lacking is experiencing – they haven’t been this good or gotten far in the playoffs in years.
It might not happen this year but people should be prepared to see Morant and his team in the Finals soon.
