Anyone who doesn’t understand the beauty and magic of sports should watch this clip of Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies.
Morant sometimes gets a hard time because of his brash, in-your-face attitude.
He has certainly accumulated plenty of haters throughout the league.
But at the end of the day, he’s still a man who cares deeply about basketball and the fans who love him.
"It leaves you speechless when you see somebody that big of a fan of you to bust out & cry. It was even more crazy to see his Mom crying. I know that touched both of their hearts and something they'll never forget."

That was very evident on New Year’s Day as Morant scored 25 points to beat the Sacramento Kings.
Aside from scoring a ton for his team and playing with his trademark style and energy and skill, Morant also created one of the most talked-about moments of the season so far.
Following the game, Morant signed and gave away a pair of his Ja 1 shoes to a young fan who had been sitting courtside with a sign praising Morant.
Decked out in his Grizzlies gear, the young boy was obviously a major and loyal fan of Morant.
Morant’s gesture didn’t just bring the kid to tears, his mom also broke down as Morant signed the shoes, handed them to the child, took pictures with him and his mom, and spoke with them.
The entire event was caught on camera and it’s clear that this changed the young fan’s life.
It’s not often that NBA followers get to see their favorite players in person but this goes above and beyond what anyone gets to experience.
This is a story that this boy will likely tell for the rest of his life.
As for Morant, he will now focus on continuing to make the boy proud as he pushes through the rest of the season and attempts to carry the Grizzlies far into the postseason.
