Isaiah Thomas is back in the NBA G League.
And, once again, Thomas is once again proving he is just far too good for the G League.
The former Boston Celtics All-Star is back in the NBA’s development league after two 10-day contracts with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks.
He may not have a deal with an NBA team but he sure is playing like he does.
Thomas put up 45 points – tying the G League’s scoring record for the year.

After the game, Thomas took to Twitter to feel the praise from others but also celebrate his peers, saying “Respect to all my killas in the G league grindin!”
While others are grinding, no one is doing it quite like Thomas.
Back To The NBA?
The last few years have been very up and down for Thomas, who has been trying to land himself back in rotation with an NBA team.
Ever since injuries sidelined him, Thomas hasn’t had luck getting back into the NBA.
Instead, Thomas has been doing work in other minor leagues, like the G League.
Still, he has been proving how special he is – even if he isn’t in the NBA.
Back in December, the guard had 42 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists in an epic game for the Grand Rapids Gold.
After that game, NBA teams started to once again take notice of Thomas – especially as so many of them were decimated by COVID health and safety absences.
Thomas re-entered the league, playing briefly for both the Lakers and Mavericks, but it didn’t last long and now he’s back in the G League.
If he keeps playing like he did Thursday, perhaps another NBA team will sign him again and help him return to the league he belongs in.
