There have been many great rivalries between quarterbacks that have defined a generation of players.
Some say that another great rivalry in is the making, between Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
Tyler Boyd, a wide receiver for the Bengals has compared this rivalry to the one seen between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.

In response to these comments, Mahomes said that he has a “ton of respect” for Joe Burrow but he “hates to compare it to Brady and Manning, because those guys have won so much… I feel like that’s something you do at the end of your career”
While it can be agreed that, as these players are at the beginning of their careers, any comparison to a rivalry as long as Brady and Manning would be premature.
But, when you look at what these 2 have already done in their short careers, you can understand the comparison.
Mahomes and Burrow’s record
In his 4 years as Chiefs quarterback, Mahomes has won appeared in two super bows, winning one and being awarded the MVP for that game.
On the other hand, Burrows has transformed the Bengals from one of the e worse teams to SUper bowl contenders, losing in last year’s game to the Rams.
When they have played against each other, Burrows has a 2-0 record over Mahomes, including a comeback victory in last year’s AFC Championship against the Chiefs
This weekend, these two young quarterbacks meet for the third time, and hopefully not for the only time this season.
We could be in for a quarterback rivalry that may defy this era in the NFL.
