For many fans, this means that it is “World Series or bust,” for the Yankees.
These are high expectations for a team that should be used to them by now.
Despite all of this, the Yankees have routinely come up short each year.
With arguably the strongest pitching rotation in the American League, and one of the better lineups, there aren’t many excuses left.
If they are unable to at the very least make it to a World Series, and ultimately win it, there could be some significant repercussions.
For many Yankees fans, there would be severe disappointment in manager Aaron Boone and GM Brian Cashman.
This could push the organization to go in a different direction, though they have shown an unwillingness to so far.
However, if there is enough pushback from the fans then there may be no choice.
While there is a lot of time before the season even begins, there is undoubtedly pressure for the Yankees this season.
There always is in the Bronx, and it falls on the players to respond in the right way.
With how long it has been since a World Series championship, there is a feeling of anxiousness in New York.
