The Green Bay Packers list of quarterbacks is legendary.
Bart Starr, Brett Favre, and Aaron Rodgers are among the most prominent.
Starr and Favre’s accolades have been well-documented and praised.
Aaron Rodgers is still playing, but it’s a fair question to ask if he is overrated.
He most definitely is not, and here are three reasons why.
1. Longevity
Rodgers just completed his 16th season in the NFL, all with the Packers.
At 37 years of age, he has been the lynchpin for the Packers offense.
Some would argue that he hasn’t always been equipped with the supporting cast to help him lift the team to victory.
Often it falls on his shoulders, and more specifically his arm, to do spectacular things.
20. MOTOWN MIRACLE

2. Statistics
Rodgers has played in 197 regular season games and has completed 65.1% of his passes.
With those 4,285 completed passes, he has thrown for 51,245 yards.
In almost 10% of his passes, he has thrown a touchdown for a total of 412 TD passes.
His accuracy shows through on his interception numbers.
He has thrown only 89 interceptions in his career; that is a 1.4% interception percentage.
The transition from Favre after Rodgers was drafted was an awkward time for the Packers organization, but all is well now.
In fact, Favre is one of Rodgers biggest fans saying this about him in December 2020:
“I think he, aside from the [number of] Super Bowls, he may be the greatest player ever. I say this all the time, Tom Brady is the greatest player ever if we’re measuring from a Super Bowl [perspective]. And, statistic-wise, Tom has put up tremendous statistics and has won six Super Bowls. But Aaron is, believe me, the Packers are good year in and year out because of him. And his statistics certainly speak for themselves. I mean, he’s not doing anything to jeopardize the team. I’m just amazed at how prolific he is and takes care of the ball in the process. Just an incredible player [and] makes everyone around him just so much better.”
Though not known to be as mobile as Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes, Rodgers can run the ball too.
Over his career, he has carried the ball 652 times for 3,271 yards and 31 TDs.
By the way, this is what he has done in just the regular season.
The Green Bay Packers are regular participants in the postseason so Rogers has plenty of experience there also.
He has thrown for over 5,660 yards in the playoffs including 45 TDs versus only 13 INTs.
3. Proven Winner
He is likely the MVP of the 2020 season though that has yet to be announced.

Here are some of the other awards he has earned.
- 9 Time Pro Bowler
- 3 Time Passer Rating Leader
- 2 Time Passing Touchdowns Leader
- 2 Time NFL MVP
- AP Athlete of the Year
- NFL 2010s All Decade Team
- Super Bowl Champion
- Super Bowl MVP
Rogers has accomplished so much.
What else is there?
It’s simple, more Super Bowls.
He has one ring, from the 2011 season, but someone with his talent and ability, should have more.
