With half of the NFL season already in the books, we can start making our list of potential MVP candidates.
Obviously, names like Patrick Mahomes, Tua Tagovailoa, Jalen Hurts, and even Trevor Lawrence should be a part of that list.
But when asked about who’s going to enter the mix in the second half of the season, NFL analysts Steve Wyche and James Palmer had two interesting picks (via James Palmer).
We're at the midway point of the season. Who's not in the MVP conversation that will be at the end of the year?@wyche89: #lions Jared Goff@jamespalmertv: #cowboys Dak Prescott

Palmer chose Dak Prescott, stating that he was the best player on the field during the Dallas Cowboys’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and adding that he’s been great at taking care of the football this season with just five interceptions.
He thinks that with the way Prescott is finally making plays with his feet again and with CeeDee Lamb’s surge, he should be able to enter the MVP conversation.
Wyche, on the other hand, predicted that Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff should be in the mix as well.
He talked about how the Lions are expected to win the NFC North division and should have plenty of winnable games ahead of them.
Also, he notes Goff has posted some very good numbers, and he’s also been great at taking care of the football.
Needless to say, it would be kind of shocking to see either of these players run away with the MVP award, and perhaps Joe Burrow is a safer bet.
Then again, we’ve seen crazier things happen over and over in this league, so we shouldn’t be too quick to count Prescott or Goff out.NEXT: Newest Bears Addition Is Already Making A Huge Impact
