The New York Jets are severely undermanned right now.
Losing Aaron Rodgers left them quite thin at the quarterback position.
And while HC Robert Saleh has made it loud and clear that he’s going to roll with Zach Wilson for the remainder of the season, they still need a backup.
With that in mind, NFL insider Josina Anderson revealed a list of potential candidates the Jets could consider, which includes the likes of Cam Newton, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Robert Griffin III, Nick Foles, Chase Daniel, and Colt McCoy, adding that she would lean towards McCoy.
If you are bringing guys off the street, which the #Jets are currently more inclined to do as of this am, I’d look at…
Cam Newton
Ryan Fitzpatrick
RG3
Nick Foles
Chase Daniel
Colt McCoyOf the guys I heard they’re considering, so far, I’d go McCoy.

There were also rumors about Matt Ryan and Carson Wentz, and Colin Kaepernick’s agent reportedly reached out to the Jets in an attempt to get another shot to make the league.
Also, unsurprisingly, speculation about a potential Tom Brady comeback arose on social media again, but that seems quite unlikely at this point.
Wilson was the No. 2 pick just three years ago, and he’s just 24 years old.
He’s also got Rodgers by his side as his mentor now, so chances are that he can do a better job now than he’s done in his first two years with the organization.
Despite having Rodgers, the Jets never shut the door on Wilson or traded or released him, and they were always supportive of him.
And while that could prove to be a mistake at some point down the line, he looks like the safest bet at this point, but that could change should another guy become available.
