The start of the NBA preseason is only a few weeks away, with every team in the league gearing up for another 82-game grind.
Although games will be played in the coming weeks, the Portland Trail Blazers have yet to get a deal done to send superstar guard Damian Lillard elsewhere.
The perennial All-Star made it clear earlier this summer that he wants to be traded, with the team seemingly going in another direction with rookie guard Scoot Henderson as the new face of the franchise.
Although Lillard let the team know he wanted out and wanted to ultimately land with the Miami Heat, the Blazers haven’t received a trade offer that the team finds intriguing enough to make a deal.
However, that stance could change in the coming weeks, with ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reporting that the Blazers want to resolve the Lillard situation before the start of training camp, via Behind the Play Podcast and NBACentral.

Throughout the summer, all signs pointed to the Blazers eventually coming to terms with the Heat on a deal to send Lillard to Miami, even if it meant bringing in one or two teams to make things work.
Unfortunately for Lillard, the team hasn’t been able to make a deal happen, which has led some to believe that the superstar might have to report to training camp and potentially play in the first half of the season leading toward the NBA trade deadline.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out in the coming weeks and whether the Blazers can finally find a trade package that intrigues them.
