Their first game isn’t until Tuesday night but the Los Angeles Lakers are already missing some of their best players due to injuries.
Russell Westbrook is now considered day-to-day after a left hamstring injury, which is very bad news despite his inconsistent output on the court.
Now, another player is hurt and he might be out for a while.
"The Lakers do have some worry that this could be a long-term injury for him."

According to Shams Charania, Dennis Schroder injured his finger and could be off the court for the “long-term.”
“The Lakers do have some worry that this could be a long-term injury for him,” Charania said.
The 29-year-old player, who just returned to the Lakers after a season in different corners of the NBA, didn’t travel with the Lakers to their final preseason game this weekend.
He will continue to have his finger evaluated in the days ahead so a more reasonable return timetable is put together.
Sidelined Schroder
Schroder received the injury to his right hand during LA’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves last week.
He played for just nine minutes and then left the game after he hurt his hand.
The German star just signed a one-year deal with the Lakers after performing terrifically for his home country in the EuroBasket tournament.
He wasn’t poised to be the most important player on the Lakers’ roster but he was going to be counted on as a bench guard who could help with spacing and shooting.
Now the Lakers are short-handed, which is concerning because they are attempting to start the new season with a bang to appease fans and prove they have some fight in them.
You can expect the Lakers to eagerly welcome Schroder when he does come back.
