The Las Vegas Raiders did not hesitate in giving wide receiver Hunter Renfrow the deal he deserves.
After all, he was one of the bright spots of their offense, especially when Henry Ruggs III was released by the team.
The former Clemson standout continued to play well despite the coaching transition from Jon Gruden to Rich Bisaccia.
Eventually, he had a breakout season with 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns.
Those numbers earned him a Pro Bowl selection.
In 2022, the Raiders expect bigger things from Renfrow because he will be Derek Carr‘s target if opposing teams put two defenders on All-Pro wideout Davante Adams.
Add in head coach Josh McDaniels’ system into the mix and the Raiders might dominate on offense given the personnel they have.
But now that Renfrow got rewarded, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero compared his journey to another elite receiver.
After breaking out in his third NFL season, Cooper Kupp signed a 3-year extension for $15.75M a year … and just got paid again.

Cooper Kupp could have been grossly underpaid if the Los Angeles Rams did not give him his recent three-year, $80 million extension.
It would have been a travesty to have last season’s league leader in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns not among the highest-paid wideouts.
Renfrow Could End Up Earning Even More
Renfrow’s extension locks him to the Raiders until 2024.
That’s three years to prove that his breakout 2021 campaign isn’t a one-time thing.
If his numbers from that season became the norm, the Raiders might give him a more lucrative deal once his contract expires.
By that time, the wide receiver market will have increased by leaps and bounds, giving him more potential guaranteed money.
