The Los Angeles Chargers host their home opener on Week 2 of the NFL season against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Chargers are 1-0 and widely regarded as one of the top teams in the AFC.
They are led by second-year quarterback Justin Herbert who was the 2020 NFL Rookie of the Year and picked up right where he left off last season.

The Cowboys come in 0-1 after a difficult loss to the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
It was a winnable game so the Cowboys are looking to erase that disappointment against another very talented opposing team.

What To Expect
It is Week 2 so it is not yet clear what to expect because one game is not considered a pattern.
The Cowboys kicking game cost them the game against the Bucs.
Greg Zuerlein missed two field goals and an extra point in a two point loss.

Greg Zuerlein, who played for the other Los Angeles team until 2019, needs to be accurate and capitalize on all scoring opportunities.
The Chargers beat the Washington Football Team in the air in Week 1 while only gaining 90 rushing yards.
Though Herbert is a superstar and looks effortless as he throws the ball, running back Austin Ekeler will need to get more involved to balance out the Chargers offense.
Ekeler had been dealing with a hamstring issue but appears to be on the mend now.
Great team win today. Thank you Bolt Fam for believing in us. We’re just getting started! #1-0 🎸⚡️ pic.twitter.com/LCbwxIlqwN

As for the Cowboys, much of the focus has been on Dak Prescott in the offseason.
He was recovering from the ankle injury when he suffered a shoulder injury in training camp which limited him in the preseason.
What a first game back for @Dak:
🔹 403 passing yards
🔹 3 passing TD
🔹 101.4 passer ratingSo great to see him out there again. #DALvsTB pic.twitter.com/1dlX33WvQg

Prescott showed no signs of injury or rust in the Week 1 game against the Bucs.
Expect even more confidence from Prescott as offensive lineman Zack Martin will be back in the lineup; he was out Week 1 on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
The Chargers have the home-field advantage, but the Cowboys could make this a really interesting game.
