menards

You can save big money at Menards with numerous rebates as long as you apply the rebates before they go bad.

However, rebates generally fall to the bottom of the to-do list with a reminder to submit the rebate when you can.

Many people forget about their rebates until it’s too late.

When you finally remember about the rebate you forgot to send in, you’ll wonder if it’s still eligible.

How Long Are Menards Rebates Good For?

thinking man

Menards rebates do not expire as long as they are submitted by the date required on the form.

Menards rebates come to you in the form of a Merchandise Credit Check (MCC) that you can use at Menards stores for future purchases.

You cannot use the check for online purchases.

Merchandise Credit Checks do not expire.

The date you see on the check indicates the day that the check was issued, not the expiration date.

About Menards Rebates

menards sign

Menards has a rebate program that allows customers to get 11% back on qualifying purchases that they can use toward their next purchase at Menards.

You can see all products with an active rebate through the Menards website, as it changes from week to week.

You can receive a rebate receipt on all qualifying products whether you buy them online or in the store.

Not all items come with a rebate—only the items on that week’s ad.

The products vary from week to week, and you can’t learn about upcoming rebate offers in advance as Menards doesn’t want to encourage customers to wait to make a purchase.

The employees may know about upcoming sales, but they won’t tell you.

Menards used to only offer the rebate program every two to four weeks, but they have upgraded the program to offer rebate items every week.

What Items Don’t Qualify For A Rebate?

Menards has some exclusions on what items qualify for a rebate.

You will never find these items on the rebate catalog.

You cannot get a rebate on the following items at Menards:

  • Gift Cards.
  • Event tickets.
  • Propane purchases.
  • Delivery and handling charges on all rental items.
  • KeyMe purchases.
  • Processing fees and packaging charges.
  • Extended service agreements.

If you try to submit a rebate for these items, it will be denied.

How To Submit Your Menards Rebate

menards website

Rebates require a bit of effort on the part of the consumer, but it’s easy to take advantage of the Menards rebate program by following these simple steps.

Step One: Fill Out Rebate Form

When you buy a qualifying product, you will get a rebate form from the cashier.

You can also print out the rebate form online if you lose yours or the store runs out of rebate forms.

The form can be used for almost all of the rebates Menards offers and is primarily used for tracking and delivery purposes.

The form requires you to fill out the following simple information:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Address
  • Email address

The email address indicates where Menards will send you information regarding your rebate, and the address is where they will send the rebate check.

Step Two: Include Rebate Receipts And UPC (If Applicable)

At the bottom of the item you purchased, you will find the rebate receipt that you will need to include with your form.

The rebate receipt is in addition to the regular receipt and is designed to tear off easily.

If you made a purchase online, the rebate receipt will be sent to you as an attachment in an email.

Always submit the original rebate receipt instead of a copy.

Most of the time, you won’t need to include a UPC.

However, some products will require proof of purchase in the form of the UPC.

You will find the UPC on the packaging of your product.

If you do not include all required documentation with your rebate, you will not receive your MCC.

You can always receive a second copy of your rebate receipt if you lose it (more on that later).

Step Three: Mail Rebate

Once you complete the form and include the proof of purchase and UPC (if applicable), you will mail the rebate to:

PO Box 155

Elk Mound, WI 54739-0155

You must submit the rebate within the timeframe indicated on the rebate receipt.

Different products have different time frames.

However, you usually need to send in the rebate between 30 and 90 days after the date of purchase.

While there’s no guarantee, Menards has been known to accept late rebates when possible, but they can deny a late request.

If requesting a rebate on several items, you can submit multiple rebates in one envelope.

Step Four: Track Your Rebate

Track your Menards rebate quickly and simply through the Menards website.

You will learn if your rebate is pending, if it was accepted, or if it was denied.

If you prefer, you can also submit a written request to the following address:

PO Box 99

Elk Mound, WI 54739-0155

Menards will mail the paper rebate to the address on your rebate form

The rebate looks more like a receipt than a check.

Spending Your Merchandise Credit Checks

Grocery store checkout

You can spend your merchandise credit check on just about any product at Menards stores.

An additional perk is that you won’t have to pay tax for purchases covered by your rebate checks.

When you arrive at the register, simply present your cashier with the check to scan it and apply it toward your total.

If you have a remaining balance, the cashier will write the new total on the rebate check for you to use during your next purchase.

Menards merchandise credit checks do not expire.

You can apply your rebates toward other items that also qualify for a rebate, allowing you to stack up the savings with each purchase.

Unfortunately, you cannot turn in the check for cash or deposit the check into your bank.

Can I Spend My Rebate Check Online?

You cannot spend your rebate check through the Menards online store.

You will need to use it in-store.

The system does not have a way to securely accept rebate checks online.

What If I Lose My Rebate Check?

If you lost your rebate check or accidentally sent it to an old address, you can request a new rebate check by submitting a written request to:

PO Box 99

Elk Mound, WI 54739-0155

Include all relevant information, including the old data you submitted on your rebate form and the new contact information.

Menards will consider your request, and if they don’t see any glaring red flags, they should send you a new rebate check to the proper address.

How To Find A Copy Of Your Rebate Receipt

male shopkeeper

You need to include the rebate receipt with your rebate submission.

As we mentioned earlier, the rebate receipt prints out underneath your standard receipt.

You get to keep the original receipt for yourself and send the rebate receipt with your rebate form.

What happens if the rebate receipt didn’t print or you accidentally threw it away?

If you lose the rebate receipt, you can retrieve it using a couple of different methods.

Method One: In-Store

Visit the service desk of the store where you made the purchase.

It’s imperative that you go to the same store location, as a different store may not be able to find your purchase.

The representative can look up your purchases using your bank account information, debit card, or credit card.

You must look up the purchase with the exact payment method you used, which only presents a problem if you used a card you no longer have.

All purchases made at that store with that payment method will generate, and you can search through the different transactions until you find the transaction in question.

The representative can then print the receipt for you.

If any purchases qualify for a rebate, the rebate receipt will print out as well.

You need to have your card with you or your banking information to have the store associate print the receipt for you.

Method Two: Online

If you made your purchase online or made a purchase online connected to your Menards account, you can print the rebate receipt yourself.

Purchases made with any card connected to your account will automatically show up.

All purchases made online will also show up.

Once you log into your account, you will find an option for “Recent Purchases” with a subsequent option for “Lookup Receipt.”

If you have a number of different transactions, you can search by date to narrow down the search results.

Once you find the correct receipt, you will have the option to check it and turn it into a printable PDF file.

My Account At Menards

Menards store

An account with Menards comes with more benefits than the ability to locate your past purchases (although that’s a great reason in and of itself).

When you create an account with Menards, you have the option to create either a personal account or a business account (both are free!).

Both types of accounts allow you to track purchases, which comes in handy when you need to turn in rebates.

A business account comes with the following additional features:

  • Business-related promotions (volume pricing)
  • Add authorized buyers
  • Organize purchases by job

Why not take advantage of these benefits while you can?

More Ways To Save At Menards

Mature couple with piggy bank

Menards offers customers numerous ways to save money outside of its generous rebate program.

1. Everyday Low Prices

Menards takes pride in providing low prices every day for all customers.

They even price match the competition if they have an item for a lower price (as long as you have proof of the lower price from a qualifying competitor).

2. Ray’s List

Ray’s List at Menards gives you the latest on the top clearance sales and open box items.

These are limited time offers so take advantage of them as you can.

Menards can’t sell returned items at a new price, especially when the box indicates signs of use, so they will sell it at a lower price.

This list of items also includes items that may soon become discontinued.

3. Menards Big Card

When you shop at Menards with the Menards Big Card credit card, you will receive 2% back on all purchases.

The 2% adds up quickly, especially when you make numerous purchases for your business.

Just pay off your balance quickly as the card comes with a rather high interest rate.

You also can’t use the card at other locations outside of Menards.

Frequently Asked Questions

businessman wearing tie and glasses thinking

1. Can I Submit A Rebate After The Date Indicated On The Receipt?

You can still submit a rebate after the date indicated on the rebate receipt, but there’s no guarantee that the rebate center will still be able to accept it.

They will do their best (and they’ve been known to accept late rebates).

2. Can I Submit A Rebate Online?

No.

You cannot submit a rebate online.

You must submit the rebate through the mail.

Menards makes this a requirement since they need the physical rebate receipt.

It’s too easy to attempt fraud online.

3. Why Was My Rebate Denied?

Your rebate may get denied if you try to submit a duplicate rebate or if you fail to provide the required proof of purchase.

It may also get denied if you try to submit a rebate for a product that didn’t qualify for a rebate.

4. A Product I Recently Bought Now Has A Rebate! Can I Get The Rebate, Too?

If you buy an item and find it on the list of rebates after the fact, don’t feel cheated.

You can submit a price adjustment form to receive a new receipt that will include the rebate receipt as long as you submit the form within 14 days.

Do not submit the price adjustment form with your rebate form (you won’t have the rebate receipt yet).

5. How Long Does It Take To Receive Your Rebate?

Menards works hard to send out rebates in a timely manner.

However, it can take six to eight weeks.

Conclusion

Save big money at Menards thanks to their low prices and rebates.

While you can only use the rebates on items at Menards, those rebates never expire, and you can use them to stack on top of other rebates.

Not a fan of rebates?

There are numerous other ways to save, too.
