When the World Baseball Classic takes place, some things that fans may not normally see in spring training take place.
Such was the case on Wednesday with the Boston Red Sox and their super utilityman Enrique Hernandez.
Hernandez is competing in the WBC as a member of Team Puerto Rico.
In fact, the Red Sox played host to Team Puerto Rico on Wednesday at their spring training complex in Fort Myers, Florida, and Hernandez actually took batting practice with the Red Sox.
However, he was donning his Team Puerto Rico threads.
On Twitter, the Red Sox posted a video of him finishing batting practice and walking through the Red Sox dugout in his new threads.
Well this is awkward… pic.twitter.com/AeEaacYk82

As Hernandez walked through the Red Sox dugout, his teammates gave him a little bit of grief for it, with some laughs being shared between several Red Sox players.
But Hernandez certainly seemed to enjoy the opportunity to show off his new WBC threads to his Red Sox teammates.
Clearly, the team and Hernandez had a good laugh about it.
Still, it had to have been a little awkward for his teammates to see him in a new uniform despite still being a part of the Red Sox.
He’ll join forces with stars such as Francisco Lindor and Javier Baez on the Puerto Rican National Team and will play under recently retired catcher Yadier Molina, who is managing the team.
Team Puerto Rico will play their first WBC game on Saturday against Nicaragua as the Classic rolls on.
