Ben Simmons of the Brooklyn Nets is a very talented basketball player, there is no doubt about that.
But despite his skills, the young player will always be ridiculed because of his alleged inability and refusal to shoot the ball.
This was on display during last year’s postseason, when Simmons was still playing for the Philadelphia 76ers.
During the playoffs last year, it looked like Simmons had a legitimate allergy to taking shots, and instead focused on rebounds and defense – although he was lacking with both of those during the end of last year too.
Now a hilarious meme making the rounds online is poking fun at this fact.

Twitter users are sharing this image of the Brooklyn Nets’ lineup featuring a slew of great shooters on the team like Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Joe Harris, Patty Mills, and Seth Curry.
Meanwhile, Simmons stands behind his squad, passing the ball.
The joke is definitely funny but the Nets will have the last laugh if this trade pays off.

While it is true that Simmons has difficulty shooting the ball, the Nets are well aware of that and that’s not why they have negotiated a trade for him.
Instead, head coach Steve Nash and his crew are going to rely on Simmons for what he does best: defense.
Don’t expect to see Simmons completely reinvent himself at the Barclays Center.
Indeed, he will leave the shooting to the other guys on his team and, as this meme shows, there will be plenty of suitable options to handle that.
Meanwhile, Simmons will be pressed to once again prove why people are so wild about his defensive skills.
If he is able to do that, the Nets could become a very, very dangerous team again.
